About Hypnosis

What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of focus attention and heightened awareness or heightened consciousness. It bypasses the analytical mind while the individual remain fully conscious, allowing the subconscious—the emotional centre—to come forward, express itself, and receive beneficial suggestions that have been mutually agreed upon.
Hypnosis happens when the subject is conscious.
Hypnosis cannot make anyone do anything against their will. The individual always has the ability to come out of hypnosis at any time. They remain conscious and in full control throughout the process, with the subconscious simply becoming more accessible and active.
For example, when someone is driving, they are focused on the road yet can still hear the background music they’ve chosen to play in the car. This shows that the person always remains in control and is aware of what’s happening in the background.
In hypnosis, the hypnotist functions much like that background music— present but not overpowering—guiding, supporting, reshaping thoughts and beliefs. Ultimately, the subject has full control and can choose to “turn off” any thoughts or suggestions that don’t resonate and move on to those that do.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic method that uses hypnosis to address health conditions, symptoms, or behaviours. It may help reprogram the mind, reduce or transform negative emotions or memories, release fears and blockages, build confidence, and support recovery from certain addictions.
Hypnosis is a scientifically recognized therapeutic tool. Those can be easily hypnotized does not mean they have a weak-mind or gullible. People that are successful and intelligent are generally better candidates for hypnosis. They increase responsiveness to hypnosis, because they can follow complex suggestions, focus attention, and use imagination effectively. Brave minds have better openness to experience. However, people who are not as easily hypnotized often have a fear of vulnerability.
Great candidates for hypnosis?
Almost anyone can. (Safety measure applies)
The keys are:
* Openness
* Good imagination
* Focus attention (concentration)
What are positive suggestions?
"Open to Suggestions"-- these suggestions are positive reinforcements intended to improve "based on the agreed-upon terms discussed prior to the session" like stop food cravings, stress reductions, self-empowerment, ego-strengthening, pain management, phobia, etc., and even like transforming negative emotions and thoughts into something positive.
We are being hypnotized 3/4 of the day. They're everywhere around us.
Subconscious hypnosis (also known as subliminal influence or covert persuasion) is widely used in marketing and advertising. We are hypnotized by marketing and advertisements everywhere and every day. However, we can use this tool for our advantage, and correct ourselves and the minds to make better choices like resist the urge for cravings (temptations) in order to achieve weight loss as an example.
Music is also a form of hypnosis.
Have you had a song that doesn't stop playing in your head? You're hypnotized.
The key to being successfully hypnotized is openness and imagination. 🧠
Opening to the suggestions as agreed prior to the treatment, and allowing the words to sink into the subconscious minds.

Can everyone be hypnotized?
While almost everyone can be hypnotized, the effectiveness of hypnotherapy largely depends on some factors. You must be willing to enter the hypnotic state. People with control issues, paranoia, or deep suspicion generally resist hypnosis. While these individuals may benefit from such remedies, many struggle to open themselves up to the experience. However, hypnosis remains accessible to anyone who is willing to be open to it.

The difference between Hypnosis and Meditation
Meditation is used to quiet the mind, to create peace and tranquility within the person. Meditation can be defined as the use of a technique to train attention and awareness, resulting in mental clarity and calm.
Hypnosis is often used to help program the person’s mind for certain desired results. Hypnosis can be defined as a state of focused attention in which people can be more responsive to suggestions.
